Omg, it’s here! I can’t quite believe I finally have my brand spanking new business and website to share with everyone!
I’m so excited to share it with you and what I can offer, along with these blogs which I will be doing every month so you can find out all the latest hair & makeup News, hair and makeup tips & tricks as well as competitions & offers!
I think it’s best if I first let you know a little bit about me and my background so you can get to know the person behind the business…which is me!
Hey! I’m Marie and I am the Director/Founder of MK Hair & Makeup.
Wiltshire liver, lover of cats,& all round hair and makeup addict! (and shoes…God I love shoes).
I have been a professional hair & makeup artist for 12 years now (which has flown by!)
In 2008 I was awarded my Degree in Media Makeup & Hairstyling which was such an amazing course to do because you’re able to study all forms of makeup and hairstyling within the media. So once you’re fully qualified you can decide which route you want to go down in the industry. I started off doing commercial work/editorial work and then along came weddings!
As much as I loved and still do love commercial & the editorial side, I really found my niche in weddings, not just with creating beautiful hair & makeup but the personable aspect too! I’m a real people person and LOVE getting to meet lots of different type’s people in the most amazing settings and locations.
As well as being a freelance hair & makeup artist I have also successfully run a Hair & Makeup Franchise in the South West of the UK for just under 10 years. So I have certainly earned my stripes and learnt a lot over the years! ?
I have also had training in London and across the country to keep my skills fresh so I can offer my brides a first-class service. As well as this I’ve had the most amazing opportunities over the years to work with some of the best artist’s in the industry including celebrity makeup artists, International award-winning artists and big companies such as Disney and some VIP clients.
I’m an internationally published hair & makeup artist and have had publications in Vogue, Bride magazine & Wedding Ideas magazine to name a few.
Over the past 5 years I’ve won multiple awards but most recently I was awarded Best Bridal Hair & Makeup Artist in the Global Wedding Awards and the Best Fashion & Lifestyle Award by Lux Life Magazine!
I also found out I have been nominated in The National Wedding Awards 2019 only the other day…so watch this space!

It’s a HUUGE industry now and I know it can be daunting if you’re not the most creative or skilled in this area,..you don’t know what colour lipstick suits you, cut-crease,…what the hell’s a cut-crease?!…and baking…? why would I need to put my makeup in the oven? ! Let alone if you’re a bride and there are literally hundreds of hair & makeup looks out there and you just want to be the most AMAZING version of you!…well…
